Donate Books to Needy Children

Know a child in need of a book? On July 2nd, 2014, Abby Daly won a NJ Hero award. She has always enjoyed community service. Her company Bridge of Books has been able to distribute over 425,000 books! Its goal is to provide an ongoing source of books to unprivileged children. This helps support literacy skills and encourages a love of reading. Many children can’t afford books or need help to read. Bridge of Books funds and donates books to these kids.

Bridge of Books is partners with the Youth Corps. Together they created the Summer Book Blast Book Fair. There were about 2,400 books for children to choose to take home. That program was a blast and Bridge of Books is going to set it up next year as well.

I think Abby Daly definitely showed what it meant to be an NJ Hero. Hopefully we'll be lucky enough to be able to meet Abby Daly in person!
