Dragon Nonstop

-a story by Writing Girl (WG)
Today was a super windy morning and Brimstone; the big white dragon, was tired of not being allowed to fly. The weather kept on getting worse, and she knew she would be blown away. Brimstone was so angry that she decided to take the risk of flying. She was 5 years old, and 200 feet tall. That was short for a dragon, so if Brimstone got stuck, other hungry dragons would try to attack her. Brimstone flew into the sky and managed to spread her wings. As she flew on, it became harder, and soon she was fighting the current. Eventually, Brimstone fell down, hitting an avalanche as she went.

When she reached the ground, Brimstone stretched her wings. She was just about to get up when the avalanche of rocks fell on her wing. “No!” “Help!” she cried, but there was no answer. Only a nearby group of dragons heard her. They were 600 feet tall. They were led by “The Majestic One,”. When Brimstone saw who was there, she knew she had no hope.

And just when “The Majestic One” was ready to pounce, Brimstone heard a soft growl. It was a bear as big as the “The Majestic One”. As the two enemies came closer, Brimstone spotted an airplane in the air. “How would that help me?,” Brimstone thought aloud. But “The Majestic One” got distracted by the airplane, and kept on trying to eat it but it always flew away in the nick of time. Right above the bear, the airplane circled. Finally, a big metallic thing flew down from the airplane and hit the bear. The bear went exploding into the distance.

Then as the thing in the airplane was celebrating,“The Majestic One”, was getting ready to pounce. Using strength and power, Brimstone, freed her wing from the rock and smashed into “The Majestic One”. At, the same time, the airplane realized what was happening and dropped another metallic thing on that Majestic dragon. His skin of armor melted, creating sticky, red puddles. The pack, seeing what had happened fled surprisingly. Brimstone flew away, and to thank the airplane for its service, she took it on her wing.
Epilogue
The next morning, when Brimstone was flying in the sky, she saw a pack of dragons. Hey, was it just her eyes, or was “The Majestic One’s” pack already back with a new leader?

Fall

The fall leaves bruise by the dark night sky,
the wind shows them their path.
When you wake, see them
floating by the empty trees,
and the birds fleeing too,
cause’ winter’s round the bend.

A Letter to the Principal

This is a letter I wrote to the principal of my school. I enjoyed writing it and hope you will enjoy reading it.

Dear principal,
The holiday concert was a great success. But I noticed one error. Some people in the top were completer hidden. I have found a way to solve this problem. Some children in the front should sit down so the children in the back can be seen. That way, even if some children in the back are unseen, they will be seen. Also, children could rotate seats or positions during the songs to be seen. I hope you like my ideas. If you have any concerns please reply back.

P.S. If my followers see anything I could to better I would like them to comment.

My win at the Chess tournament

Hey guys, remember how badly I lost the last chess tournament? Well here’s some good news. I got into the chess team this time with four wins! I came in 8th place and am happy to say I only lost a game to the player who came in 2nd place. As you can imagine, I’m pretty eager to tell you about it.
Like last time, I’m gonna explain my thoughts and lessons here. I only have two people to thank for my win. My mom and dad. My mom who recommended me to play against my brother, and my dad who watched many games I played at home and at the tournament. He also gave me tips on how I could do better in the tournament and encouraged me.
My lessons were to never lose hope until everything was over, and to remember to not move before 20 seconds or before I had three alternative moves.
Over this year, I had practiced a lot for the coming chess tournament. Most days, I played 3 or more chess games. If I lost, I would send my game for computer analysis. If I won, I would do the same. Every game I played, I would analyze. I guess all that hard work payed off, because now me and my brother (who came in 5th place, though he believes he is 2nd :-)  are on the chess team. I hope I can get on the team next year too so wish me luck!
Can’t wait to play against other schools; as part of the competitive matches I will go for throughout this year!
Here is a my refresher post from last year: My loss at the Chess tournament.
